CAD
Climate Action Data Trust - is a joint initiative of the International Emissions Trading Association, the World Bank and the Singapore Government, along with a variety of governments and public and private organisations. It will provide an open-source metadata system to share information about carbon credits and projects across digital platforms, easing future integration of multiple registry systems. CAD Trust uses distributed ledger technology to create a decentralised record with the aim to avoid double counting, increase trust in carbon data and enhance climate ambition.
Carbon credits
A carbon credit is a tool often used to incentivize the avoidance or removal of carbon emissions.
Carbon Emissions
Carbon emissions result from virtually all human and natural activities. For example, even when the best available technologies are used when making cement, paper or steel, inevitably a significant quantity of CO2 is emitted.
Carbon Footprint
The carbon footprint measures greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Carbon Intensity
Carbon Intensity is the measure of how much CO2 and the CO2 equivalent of other greenhouse gases are emitted per unit of production, and it is how organizations can assess the total footprint and impact of their operations.

LULUCF
The LULUCF (Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry) sector is used to report the CO2 flows between different terrestrial reservoirs (biomass, soils, etc.) and the atmosphere that take place on the managed surfaces of a territory.

Paris Agreement
Under the 2015 Paris Agreement, nearly 200 countries have endorsed the global goal of limiting the rise in average temperatures to 2.0 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels, and ideally 1.5 degrees. Reaching the 1.5-degree target would require that global greenhouse-gas emissions are cut by 50 percent of current levels by 2030 and reduced to net zero by 2050.
